Duties & Responsibilities

The mis­sion of Union Coun­ty Ambu­lance Ser­vice is to pro­vide qual­i­ty care to our patients and the cit­i­zens of Union Coun­ty with the utmost pro­fes­sion­al­ism and cour­tesy, and to treat our patients and employ­ees in a respect­ful and friend­ly man­ner, and to be a pos­i­tive influ­ence in our community.”


Union Coun­ty Ambu­lance Ser­vice responds to all of the county’s 911 emer­gency med­ical calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our busi­ness office is also avail­able to help with billing issues and pay­ments dur­ing the times list­ed above dur­ing office hours.  Union Coun­ty Ambu­lance Ser­vice is licensed as a Para­medic Advanced Life Sup­port ser­vice through the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Pub­lic Health.  We prac­tice under pro­to­col dri­ven med­ical treat­ment from the South­ern Illi­nois Regi­nal EMS Sys­tem out of Memo­r­i­al Hos­pi­tal of Car­bon­dale under the super­vi­sion of Dr. Joseph Haake.  Union Coun­ty Ambu­lance Ser­vice has three ALS (advanced life-sup­port) licensed ambu­lances and one BLS (basic life-sup­port) ambu­lance.  We host sev­er­al in-house edu­ca­tion­al oppor­tu­ni­ties annu­al­ly to ensure our staff stays up to date on care, treat­ments, and equip­ment.  Union Coun­ty Ambu­lance Ser­vice active­ly par­tic­i­pates with youth groups, schools, and oth­er com­mu­ni­ty orga­ni­za­tions to facil­i­tate aware­ness and serve our com­mu­ni­ty to the best of our abil­i­ty.   By doing so we hope to set a good exam­ple and serve as role mod­els for our youth in the process.  Union Coun­ty Ambu­lance Ser­vice is hon­ored to serve the cit­i­zens of Union County.
