Elco Man Sen­tenced to 18 years for Home Inva­sion

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Jere­my West­more­land (DOB 06-09-1988) of Elco has been sen­tenced to eigh­teen (18) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Home Inva­sion, a Class X Felony.  In April 2012 West­more­land, act­ing with anoth­er indi­vid­ual, entered a res­i­dence in rur­al Union Coun­ty while armed with a knife.  West­more­land threat­ened the prop­er­ty own­er and took a num­ber of items from the home.  West­more­land was arrest­ed in July 2012 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office.
