Elco Man Sentenced to 18 years for Home Invasion
Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Jeremy Westmoreland (DOB 06-09-1988) of Elco has been sentenced to eighteen (18) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Home Invasion, a Class X Felony. In April 2012 Westmoreland, acting with another individual, entered a residence in rural Union County while armed with a knife. Westmoreland threatened the property owner and took a number of items from the home. Westmoreland was arrested in July 2012 following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
