Three Sen­tenced to Prison

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that the fol­low­ing indi­vid­u­als have been sen­tenced to the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Corrections:

Val­co D. Penn (DOB 10/21/1978) of Lit­tle Rock, Arkansas has been sen­tenced to three (3) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Iden­ti­ty Theft, a Class 2 Felony.  Penn is alleged to have used a cred­it card belong­ing to an Anna man to fraud­u­lent­ly obtain var­i­ous items from Wal-Mart.

Mason D. Kurtz (DOB 4/2/1987) of Mound City, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to four (4) years and two (2) months in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Aggra­vat­ed Domes­tic Bat­tery, a Class 2 Felony.  Kurtz is alleged to have caused great bod­i­ly harm to a Gore­ville woman he was liv­ing with.

David M. Olshon (DOB 7/2/1958) of Anna, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to five (5) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Invol­un­tary Manslaugh­ter, a Class 3 Felony.  After a thor­ough inves­ti­ga­tion by the Illi­nois State Police, Olshon is alleged to have allowed an Anna Woman to ingest hero­in and buprenor­phine caus­ing her death.
