Anna Man Sen­tenced to 20 Years for Sec­ond Degree Murder

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Jessie L. Bell (DOB 12/02/1979) of Anna, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to twen­ty (20) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions in con­nec­tion with the beat­ing death of James H. Mor­ri­son (DOB 10/28/1967) of Anna, Illi­nois.   Bell was sen­tenced today by Pre­sid­ing Judge Mark Boie to the max­i­mum sen­tence allowed under law for the offense of Sec­ond Degree Mur­der, a Class 1 Felony.  Bell was found guilty in May by a Union Coun­ty Jury.  Bell was arrest­ed in April 2014 as part of an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Illi­nois State Police and Anna Police Department.
