Board Appointments

If you are interested in serving on any of the County Board-appointed public entity boards listed below, please fill out an application and submit to County Administrator, Angie Johnson, at ajohnson@unioncountyil.gov at least 60 days prior to the end of term date.

Alto Pass Water District

Established in accordance with the Public Water District Act (70 ILCS 3705) and located in Alto Pass, IL.  This district has supervision and control of all waterworks properties acquired or constructed within Alto Pass, IL and has the power and duty to maintain, operate, extend and improve the same.  The board consists of five members with four members appointed by the Union County Board of Commissioners for five year terms and one member appointed by the Jackson County Board of Commissioners. Revenue is generated from user fees from the operation of the waterworks properties.

Clear Creek Levee & Drainage District

Established in accordance with the Illinois Drainage Code (70 ILCS 605) and located in Wolf Lake, IL.  This district manages and maintains levees and flood/field drainage systems.  The board consists of three commissioners appointed by the Union County Board of Commissioners for three year terms.  Revenue is generated from drainage tax which is attached to annual property tax bills.

Lick Creek Water District

Established in accordance with the Public Water District Act (70 ILCS 3705) and located in Buncombe, IL.  This district has supervision and control of all waterworks properties acquired or constructed within Buncombe, IL and has the power and duty to maintain, operate, extend and improve the same.  The board consists of seven members appointed by the Union County Board of Commissioners for five year terms.  Revenue is generated from user fees from the operation of the waterworks properties.

McClure East Cape Public Water District

Established in accordance with the Public Water District Act (70 ILCS 3705) and located in McClure, IL.  This district has supervision and control of all waterworks properties acquired or constructed within McClure and East Cape, IL and has the power and duty to maintain, operate, extend and improve the same.  The board consists of seven members with one member appointed by the Union County Board of Commissioners for five year term.  Revenue is generated from user fees from the operation of the waterworks properties.
