Jones­boro Man Sen­tenced to 10 years for
Home Inva­sion and Metham­phet­a­mine Manufacturing

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Bry­on W. Turn­er, (DOB 4/3/1981), of rur­al Jones­boro, Illi­nois, has been sen­tenced to a total of ten (10) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty in two cas­es.  Turn­er was sen­tenced to six (6) years after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Home Inva­sion, a Class X Felony.  Turn­er was also sen­tenced to four (4) years on one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Par­tic­i­pa­tion in Metham­phet­a­mine Man­u­fac­tur­ing, a Class 1 Felony.  The sen­tences will run consecutively.

Turn­er was arrest­ed for Home Inva­sion in Octo­ber 2015 after an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office showed that he had forcibly entered a Jones­boro res­i­dence in the ear­ly morn­ing hours of Octo­ber 28, 2015 and repeat­ed­ly punched an occu­pant of the res­i­dence in the face.  Turn­er had pre­vi­ous­ly been charged with metham­phet­a­mine man­u­fac­tur­ing in July 2015 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office and Union Coun­ty Drug Task Force.
