Jury Finds Carter­ville Man Guilty of Pos­ses­sion of Methamphetamine


Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Daniel Klinge­mann announced today that Aaron Lee Isaac­son (DOB 08/24/1982) of Carter­ville, Illi­nois was found guilty yes­ter­day, Decem­ber 10, 2019, by a Union Coun­ty Jury on one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Pos­ses­sion of Metham­phet­a­mine, a Class 3 Felony and one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Pos­ses­sion of Drug Para­pher­na­lia, a Class A Mis­de­meanor.  Isaac­son was arrest­ed in March 2018 by Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputies and Con­ser­va­tion Offi­cers of the Depart­ment of Nat­ur­al Resources fol­low­ing a traf­fic crash report in which he was found to be in pos­ses­sion of metham­phet­a­mine and drug para­pher­na­lia.  The Class 3 Felony car­ries a max­i­mum penal­ty of five (5) years in prison.  The case was pros­e­cut­ed by Union Coun­ty Assis­tant State’s Attor­ney, Lisa C. Casper.


A sen­tenc­ing hear­ing has been set for Jan­u­ary 30, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union Coun­ty Cour­t­house in Jones­boro.  Isaac­son remains in cus­tody at the Jack­son Coun­ty Jail in Murphysboro.
