Anna Man Indict­ed on Drug Induced Homi­cide Charges

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today the Union Coun­ty Grand Jury has returned indict­ments against David M. Olshon (DOB 07-02-1958) of 324 South Main Street in Anna in con­nec­tion with the death of Jami Resti­vo in Jan­u­ary 2012.  Olshon is charged with one (1) count of Drug Induced Homi­cide, a Class X Felony, one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Deliv­ery of a Con­trolled Sub­stance, a Class 1 Felony and one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Deliv­ery of a Con­trolled Sub­stance, a Class 3 Felony.

Jami Resti­vo was found dead at Olshon’s res­i­dence on Jan­u­ary 11, 2012.  Olshon was indict­ed by the Union Coun­ty Grand Jury fol­low­ing an exten­sive inves­ti­ga­tion by Illi­nois State Police.  Olshon is alleged to have pro­vid­ed con­trolled sub­stances to Jami Resti­vo in the days pri­or to her death.

David Olshon was tak­en in to cus­tody on Decem­ber 11, 2012 by Illi­nois State Police.  Olshon is being held at the Jack­son Coun­ty Jail in Mur­phys­boro on $250,000 bond and is set for First Appear­ance on Thurs­day, Decem­ber 13, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union Coun­ty Cour­t­house in Jonesboro.

The Union Coun­ty State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the pub­lic that charges are not evi­dence of guilt.  A defen­dant is pre­sumed inno­cent and is enti­tled to a fair tri­al in which the gov­ern­ment has the bur­den of prov­ing guilt beyond a rea­son­able doubt.
