Anna Man Indicted on Child Pornography Charges
Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Rondale Lee Chapman (DOB 09-19-1965) of 507 William Street in Anna, and formerly of 1722 Friendship School Road in rural Anna, has been indicted by the Union County Grand Jury on seven (7) counts of child pornography. Chapman is alleged to have filmed multiple minors engaged in a series of acts of sexual conduct. Chapman is charged with two (2) counts of Aggravated Child Pornography, both Class X Felonies, three (3) counts of Child Pornography, all Class 1 Felonies, and two (2) counts for possession of child pornography, a Class 2 Felony and Class 3 Felony. The alleged incidents took place between 2004 and 2008 at Chapman’s residence on Friendship School Road.
Chapman entered pleas of not guilty at an arraignment today before Presiding Judge Mark Boie. Chapman’s case is set for a pre-trial conference on March 15 at 9:00 a.m. Chapman is currently being held at the Tri-County Jail in Ullin on $500,000 bond
Chapman was arrested on the evening of January 4, 2011 as part of investigation conducted by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
