Jones­boro Man Sen­tenced to Six Years for Pos­ses­sion of
Metham­phet­a­mine with the Intent to Deliver

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Steven D. Meier (DOB 07/18/1958) of Jones­boro, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to six (6) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on Unlaw­ful Pos­ses­sion with the Intent to Deliv­er Metham­phet­a­mine, a Class X Felony.  Meier’s will also serve a three (3) year peri­od of Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release (for­mer­ly known as Parole).  Meier’s was arrest­ed on Octo­ber 21, 2015 fol­low­ing a traf­fic stop by Anna Police.  The Union Coun­ty Drug Task Force also assist­ed in the investigation.
