Missouri Man Sentenced to 7 Years on Methamphetamine Charge
Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that William D. Ray (DOB 10-16-1975) of Doniphan, Missouri, has been sentenced to seven (7) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, a Class 1 Felony. Ray was also sentenced to a concurrent term of six (6) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Obstructing Justice, a Class 4 Felony. Ray was arrested in November 2012 following a traffic stop by Union County Sheriff’s Deputies on a vehicle in which Ray was a passenger. Ray was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and was taken into custody after he fled on foot into nearby woods.
