Mis­souri Man Sen­tenced to 7 Years on Metham­phet­a­mine Charge

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that William D. Ray (DOB 10-16-1975) of Doniphan, Mis­souri, has been sen­tenced to sev­en (7) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Pos­ses­sion of Metham­phet­a­mine with Intent to Deliv­er, a Class 1 Felony.  Ray was also sen­tenced to a con­cur­rent term of six (6) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Obstruct­ing Jus­tice, a Class 4 Felony.  Ray was arrest­ed in Novem­ber 2012 fol­low­ing a traf­fic stop by Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputies on a vehi­cle in which Ray was a pas­sen­ger.  Ray was found to be in pos­ses­sion of a quan­ti­ty of metham­phet­a­mine and was tak­en into cus­tody after he fled on foot into near­by woods.
