The Victim Advocate Unit of the Union County State’s Attorney’s Office is notifying the public that on Friday, January 30th2015, from 2:00pm‑3:00pm an open group discussion on Domestic Violence and Stalking will be facilitated in the Community Room at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro Illinois.
Stalking, a form of domestic violence, is a course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to feel fear. Domestic Violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, often including threat or use of violence. Domestic Violence and Stalking will affect one in four women in their lifetime and one in thirteen men in their lifetime.
Union County State’s Attorney, Tyler R. Edmonds and the Victim Advocate Unit encourage community members to report incidents of stalking and domestic violence to your local law enforcement.
