Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Mark A. Taylor (DOB 04-07-1986) of 256 S. Mill Street in Nashville, Illinois has been charged with Disorderly Conduct, a Class 4 Felony. The charges result from a Union County Sheriff’s Office investigation regarding a threatening phone call made to the Tri-County Special Education South School located near Anna. Taylor is charged with having made the call on January 7th and threatening that gun violence would take place at the school. Taylor was arrested on January 8th in Nashville by Nashville Police and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Taylor is being held in the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $500,000 bond. His next court appearance is Tuesday January 13 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.
Investigation continues by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Nashville Police.
The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
