Four Missouri Residents Charged with Home Invasion and Armed Robbery

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Anthony T. Sample (DOB 06/30/1977) of Jackson, Missouri, Wesley M. Jones, III (DOB 11/30/1984) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Jenna A. Young (DOB 07/07/1986) of Oak Ridge, Missouri, and Lakisha S. Bernachi (DOB 04/29/1994) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, have each been charged with one (1) count of Home Invasion, a Class X Felony and one (1) count of Armed Robbery, a Class X Felony.  All four are alleged to have entered a residence in Anna, Illinois while armed with a taser on July 10, 2013.  All four were arrested by Anna Police Officer, Cobden Police Officers, Jonesboro Police Officer and Union County Sheriff Deputies near the Anna residence.  Sample, Jones, Young and Bernachi appeared in court today for their First Appearance.  A Preliminary Hearing is set for August 6, 2013 for all four defendants.  They are currently being held in the Jackson County Jail, Murphysboro, Illinois.

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
