Anna Woman Sen­tenced to Prison for Aggra­vat­ed Iden­ti­ty Theft

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Jan­ice A. Dover (DOB 8/4/1976) of 214 Wash­ing­ton Street in Anna has been sen­tenced to four (4) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to two (2) counts of Aggra­vat­ed Iden­ti­ty Theft, both Class 2 Felonies.

Dover plead­ed guilty to tak­ing pos­ses­sion of checks belong­ing to an Anna man and a rur­al Union Coun­ty man, both over the age of 60, with the intent to ille­gal­ly with­draw funds from the check­ing accounts.  The offens­es occurred between Novem­ber 2014 and Feb­ru­ary 2015.  Dover was arrest­ed in Feb­ru­ary 2015 fol­low­ing inves­ti­ga­tions by the Anna Police and Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office.
