Lick Creek Man Sen­tenced to Prison for Res­i­den­tial Burglary

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Christo­pher L. Henard (DOB 8/29/1975), for­mer­ly of the Lick Creek area of rur­al Union Coun­ty, has been sen­tenced to six (6) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions (“IDOC”) after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Res­i­den­tial Bur­glary, a Class 1 Felony.  Henard plead­ed guilty to bur­glar­iz­ing a rur­al Union Coun­ty res­i­dence in Octo­ber of 2014.  He was arrest­ed Feb­ru­ary 2015 as part of an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office.

At the time of the Res­i­den­tial Bur­glary, Henard was on pro­ba­tion for the offens­es of Aggra­vat­ed Bat­tery, a Class 3 Felony, and Domes­tic Bat­tery, a Class 4 Felony.  Based on the new Res­i­den­tial Bur­glary offense, pro­ba­tion was revoked and Henard was sen­tenced to con­cur­rent terms of five (5) years in IDOC for Aggra­vat­ed Bat­tery and three (3) years in IDOC for Domes­tic Bat­tery.  Henard had been arrest­ed on the Aggra­vat­ed Bat­tery and Domes­tic Bat­tery charges in March 2014 by Anna Police.
