Union Coun­ty Announces Agree­ment to House Pris­on­ers in Jack­son Coun­ty Jail


Union Coun­ty Sher­iff David Livesay, Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds and the Union Coun­ty Board of Com­mis­sion­ers announced today that, effec­tive March 11th, the Coun­ty has reached a four year agree­ment with Jack­son Coun­ty to house Union Coun­ty pris­on­ers at the Jack­son Coun­ty Jail in Mur­phys­boro.  In announc­ing the agree­ment, coun­ty offi­cials not­ed that the new arrange­ment will pro­vide addi­tion­al ser­vices to Union Coun­ty at a com­pet­i­tive fixed cost.  New ser­vices include addi­tion­al pris­on­er trans­porta­tion and enhanced secu­ri­ty at the jail facil­i­ty.  The Sher­iff and State’s Attor­ney also com­ment­ed that strong rela­tion­ships with their coun­ter­parts in Jack­son Coun­ty will allow for increased coor­di­na­tion regard­ing joint investigations.
