Man Charged in Connection with Multiple Fires in Ware

Man Charged in Con­nec­tion with Mul­ti­ple Fires in Ware

 

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds and Union Coun­ty Sher­iff David Livesay announced today that Corey E. Iman (DOB 03-21-1993) of 45 Elm Street in Ware has been charged in con­nec­tion with arson in con­nec­tion with five (5) sep­a­rate fires in Ware dur­ing the months of Jan­u­ary and March 2012.  Iman is charged with three (3) counts of Aggra­vat­ed Arson, all Class X Felonies, one (1) count of Res­i­den­tial Arson, a Class 1 Felony, and one (1) count of Arson, a Class 2 Felony.

 

Iman was arrest­ed on the after­noon of March 28, 2012 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by Illi­nois State Police and the Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office.  Iman is cur­rent­ly being held at the Jack­son Coun­ty Jail on $250,000 bond.  He is set for a first appear­ance on Thurs­day March 28, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union Coun­ty Cour­t­house in Jonesboro.

 

The Union Coun­ty State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the pub­lic that charges are not evi­dence of guilt.  A defen­dant is pre­sumed inno­cent and is enti­tled to a fair tri­al in which the gov­ern­ment has the bur­den of prov­ing guilt beyond a rea­son­able doubt.
