Two Sen­tenced to Prison for Jones­boro Home Invasion

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Brooke T. Stan­ton (DOB 11/09/1995) of Anna and Devin James Saly­ers (DOB 06/21/1996) of Anna have both plead­ed guilty for their roles in a Decem­ber 2016 home inva­sion and rob­bery in Jones­boro.  Stan­ton was sen­tenced to four­teen (14) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Home Inva­sion, a Class X Felony and will serve three (3) years of Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release (for­mer­ly known as Parole).  Saly­ers was sen­tenced to ten (10) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions and three (3) years of Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release, on one (1) count of Home Inva­sion, a Class X Felony.

A third per­son remains in juve­nile deten­tion and is charged with Home Inva­sion and Armed Robbery.

The case was inves­ti­gat­ed by the Jones­boro Police Depart­ment with assis­tance from the Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office and Illi­nois State Police Divi­sion of Foren­sic Ser­vices.  Two Rivers Child Advo­ca­cy Cen­ter in Anna facil­i­tat­ed inter­view of the minor victim.
