Eight Sen­tenced to Prison

 

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Daniel Klinge­mann announced the fol­low­ing sen­tences to the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions:

 

Ben­ja­men A. Suh­ling (DOB: 9/24/1987) of Peo­ria, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to two (2) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions with a rec­om­men­da­tion of impact incar­cer­a­tion after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Forgery (Class 3 Felony).   Suh­ling will also serve a one (1) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Suh­ling was arrest­ed in Octo­ber 2018 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by Anna Police.  Suh­ling issued fraud­u­lent US Cur­ren­cy to Dol­lar Gen­er­al in Anna, Union Coun­ty, Illi­nois.

 

Alex E. Pul­liam (DOB: 5/12/1995) of Jones­boro, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to four (4) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Pos­ses­sion of a Stolen Motor Vehi­cle (Class 2 Felony).  Pul­liam will also serve a two (2) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Pul­liam was arrest­ed in July 2019 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by Union Coun­ty Deputies.  Pul­liam pos­sessed a motor vehi­cle know­ing said vehi­cle was stolen.

 

Bran­don Michael Leek (DOB: 7/30/1990) of Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to five (5) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Pos­ses­sion of Metham­phet­a­mine (Class 3 Felony).  Leek will also serve a one (1) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Leek was arrest­ed in April 2019 by Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputies after he was found to be in pos­ses­sion of metham­phet­a­mine.

 

Kel­ly Eugene Kim­mel (DOB: 1/31/1983) of Cob­den, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to four (4) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Aggra­vat­ed Bat­tery (Class 3 Felony).  Kim­mel will also serve a one (1) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Kim­mel was arrest­ed in August 2019 by Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputies.  The case was inves­ti­gat­ed by Cob­den Police.  Kim­mel caused bod­i­ly harm to a child under the age of 13 years in that Kim­mel repeat­ed­ly struck the child about the face leav­ing hand prints on the child’s face.

 

Ken­neth W. Deros­sett (DOB: 11/19/1975) of Anna, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to two (2) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Aggra­vat­ed Bat­tery (Class 3 Felony). Deros­sett will also serve a one (1) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Deros­sett was arrest­ed in May 2017 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputies.  Deros­sett caused bod­i­ly harm to an adult female in that he stran­gled her with his hands.

 

Vanes­sa R. Cana­da (DOB: 7/12/1995) of Vien­na, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to two (2) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Retail Theft (Class 4 Felony).  Cana­da will also serve a one (1) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Cana­da was arrest­ed in Sep­tem­ber 2018 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion con­duct­ed by Anna Police.  Cana­da took pos­ses­sion of cer­tain mer­chan­dise from the Anna Wal­mart with­out offer­ing pay­ment for said mer­chan­dise.

 

Mar­cus A. Bow­ers (DOB: 4/4/1989) of Jones­boro, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to two (2) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Fail to Report Change to Sex Offend­er Reg­is­tra­tion (Class 3 Felony).  Bow­ers will also serve a one (1) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Bow­ers’ require­ments of reg­is­ter­ing as a sex offend­er will be extend­ed by 10 years.  Bow­ers was arrest­ed in August 2019 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputies.  Bow­ers failed to report in per­son of his e-mail account as required by the Sex Offend­er Reg­is­tra­tion Act.

 

Bri­en­na R. Hunter-Travis (DOB: 11/19/2000) of Cob­den, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to three (3) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Aggra­vat­ed Iden­ti­ty Theft (Class 2 Felony).  Hunter-Travis will also serve a two (2) year Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release.  Hunter-Travis was arrest­ed in July 2019 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputies.  Hunter-Travis pos­sessed per­son­al iden­ti­fy­ing infor­ma­tion of a local res­i­dent and used said infor­ma­tion to obtain funds that person’s bank account.
