Murphysboro Man Sentenced to 5 years for Methamphetamine Production
Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that James A. Schott (DOB 04/07/1967) of Murphysboro, Illinois, has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Unlawful Participation in Methamphetamine Manufacturing, a Class 1 Felony. Schott was arrested on July 15, 2013 after he was found to be engaged in the manufacture of methamphetamine in a vehicle parked along Big Muddy Levee Road in rural Union County. Schott was taken into custody by US Forest Service Officers and Union County Sheriff Deputies.
