Mur­phys­boro Man Sen­tenced to 5 years for Metham­phet­a­mine Production

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that James A. Schott (DOB 04/07/1967) of Mur­phys­boro, Illi­nois, has been sen­tenced to five (5) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Par­tic­i­pa­tion in Metham­phet­a­mine Man­u­fac­tur­ing, a Class 1 Felony.  Schott was arrest­ed on July 15, 2013 after he was found to be engaged in the man­u­fac­ture of metham­phet­a­mine in a vehi­cle parked along Big Mud­dy Lev­ee Road in rur­al Union Coun­ty.  Schott was tak­en into cus­tody by US For­est Ser­vice Offi­cers and Union Coun­ty Sher­iff Deputies.
