Five Sen­tenced to Depart­ment of Corrections

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds announced the fol­low­ing sen­tences to the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Corrections:

Wayne D. Synek, Jr. (DOB 5/7/1982) of Jones­boro has been sen­tenced to sev­en (7) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Unlaw­ful Pos­ses­sion of Metham­phet­a­mine Pre­cur­sors, a Class 2 Felony and one (1) count of Dis­arm­ing a Peace Offi­cer, a Class 2 Felony.  Synek was arrest­ed in May 2014 fol­low­ing a traf­fic stop on US Route 51 North.  After stop­ping his vehi­cle, Synek fled on foot from a Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Deputy.  He sub­se­quent­ly strug­gled with the Deputy and attempt­ed to dis­arm the Deputy of his taser.  At the time of his arrest, Synek was found to be in the pos­ses­sion of pills, con­tain­ing pseu­doephedrine, a key ingre­di­ent in the man­u­fac­ture of methamphetamine.

Brandy S. Yancey (DOB 11/13/1977) of Cob­den has been sen­tenced to five (5) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Retail Theft, a Class 4 Felony and admit­ting a Peti­tion to Revoke Pro­ba­tion for the orig­i­nal offense of Bur­glary, a Class 2 Felony.  Yancey was arrest­ed and charged with Retail Theft in August 2014 as part of an inves­ti­ga­tion by Cob­den Police.  Yancey took sev­er­al items of mer­chan­dise from a Cob­den busi­ness.  The items were sub­se­quent­ly recov­ered from her res­i­dence.  She had pre­vi­ous­ly been sen­tenced to pro­ba­tion on the Bur­glary charge fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Union Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office.

Jen­ny D. Spur­lock (DOB 1/13/1983) of Jones­boro has been sen­tenced to four (4) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions with a rec­om­men­da­tion of Impact Incar­cer­a­tion after admit­ting a Peti­tion to Revoke Pro­ba­tion for the orig­i­nal offense of Unlaw­ful Deliv­ery of a Con­trolled Sub­stance, a Class 1 Felony.  Spur­lock was arrest­ed on the ini­tial charge in Sep­tem­ber 2013 as part of an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Union Coun­ty Sher­iff Office.

Frankie L. Fowler (DOB 5/1/1973) of Anna has been sen­tenced to three (3) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions after plead­ing guilty to Peti­tion to Revoke Pro­ba­tion for the orig­i­nal offense of Metham­phet­a­mine Deliv­ery, a Class 2 Felony.  Fowler was arrest­ed on the ini­tial charge in August 2013 as part of an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Union Coun­ty Sher­iff Office.

Keana Rodriguez (DOB 1/12/1995) of Anna Illi­nois has been sen­tenced to three (3) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions with a rec­om­men­da­tion of Impact Incar­cer­a­tion after plead­ing guilty to one (1) count of Aggra­vat­ed Dri­ving a Vehi­cle Under the Influ­ence, a Class 4 Felony.  Rodriguez was involved in a motor vehi­cle acci­dent that result­ed in bod­i­ly harm to a child.  Rodriguez was arrest­ed in June 2014 by Anna Police.
