Car­bon­dale Man Sen­tenced to Prison for Burglary

Union Coun­ty State’s Attor­ney Tyler R. Edmonds, act­ing as spe­cial pros­e­cu­tor in Jack­son Coun­ty, announced today that Dayshawn Michael Holmes (DOB 04/01/1997) of Car­bon­dale, Illi­nois has been sen­tenced in the Cir­cuit Court of Jack­son Coun­ty to three (3) years in the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Cor­rec­tions on one (1) count of Bur­glary, a Class 2 Felony.  Holmes will also serve a two (2) year peri­od of Manda­to­ry Super­vised Release (for­mer­ly known as Parole).

Holmes was arrest­ed in July 2017 fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion by Car­bon­dale Police.  Holmes bur­glar­ized a vehi­cle in the 800 block of West Main Street in Carbondale.
