Ordinance Chapter: Article VI - Violations and Penalties

The inva­lid­i­ty of any sec­tion or parts of any sec­tion of this Chap­ter or any rule or reg­u­la­tion pur­suant there­to shall not affect the valid­i­ty of the remain­der of this Chap­ter, or any rule or regulation.

Any­one enforc­ing the pro­vi­sions of this Chap­ter shall not be held respon­si­ble for any acci­dent or prop­er­ty dam­ages which may occur while in the pur­suit of any dog or oth­er animal.

Any vio­la­tion of this Chap­ter which con­sti­tutes a pub­lic nui­sance, when a con­vic­tion is had, may, by order of the court before which the con­vic­tion is had, be abat­ed by the Admin­is­tra­tor, Deputy Admin­is­tra­tors, Ani­mal Con­trol War­dens, the Sher­iff or oth­er prop­er offi­cer, at the expense of the defendant.

Each day a vio­la­tion of this Chap­ter is con­tin­ued con­sti­tutes a sep­a­rate offense.

In addi­tion to any oth­er penal­ties imposed by this Chap­ter, any per­son who vio­lates any pro­vi­sion of this Chap­ter shall be guilty of a pet­ty offense and fined not more than One Thou­sand Dol­lars ($1,000.00).
