If the inquiry, investigation or interrogation of a law enforcement officer results in the recommendation of some action, such as transfer, suspension, dismissal, loss of pay, reassignment, or similar action which would be considered a punitive measure, then, before taking such action, the Employer shall follow the procedures set forth in 50 ILCS 725/1–7 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes. The law enforcement officer may be relieved of duty and shall receive all ordinary pay and benefits as he would have if he were not charged. The officer shall have the right to be represented at such inquiries, investigations and interrogations by a Union representative.
