No per­son shall place, main­tain or dis­play upon or in view of any street, any unau­tho­rized sign, sig­nal, mark­ing, light, reflec­tor or device which pur­ports to be or is an imi­ta­tion of or resem­bles an offi­cial traf­f­ic-con­trol device or rail­road sign or sig­nal, or which attempts to direct the move­ment of traf­fic, nor shall any per­son place, main­tain or dis­play upon or in view of any street, any oth­er sign which hides from view or inter­feres with the move­ment of traf­fic or effec­tive­ness of any traf­f­ic-con­trol device or any rail­road sign or sig­nal, and no per­son shall place or main­tain, nor shall any pub­lic author­i­ty per­mit upon any high­way, any traf­fic sign or sig­nal bear­ing there­on any com­mer­cial adver­tis­ing.  No tree, bush or foliage of any kind shall be so placed, main­tained, allowed to remain, or be dis­played upon either pub­lic or pri­vate prop­er­ty in such a man­ner as to hide from view or inter­fere with the move­ment of traf­fic or the effec­tive­ness of any traf­f­ic-con­trol device, sign or sig­nal.  (See 625 ILCS 5/11–310)
