Sex Offender Compliance Check Conducted in May
Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds and Union County Sheriff David Livesay announced today that the Illinois State Police, Union County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshall’s Service, Illinois Department of Corrections and Union County State’s Attorney’s Office partnered to conduct a sex offender compliance check on May 28. Forty-three (43) sex offenders were found to be in compliance and three (3) were found to have moved out of Union County without properly notifying authorities. Information regarding those three (3) individuals was forwarded to the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Unit for further investigation. One (1) other individual was arrested on an unrelated warrant during the compliance check.
Edmonds and Sheriff Livesay voiced appreciation to all agencies participating in the compliance check.
